Warren
Prep Academy, Public School 28K’s learning community have been very fortunate
to have the services of 144 Music and Arts for the last 3 years. This partnership has allowed us to bring
professionals into our school to conduct arts residencies for our children in
various forms of the musical experience.
Their
residencies have given our children a wonderful opportunity to interact with
professional musicians and develop an interest in playing musical instruments,
dancing, etc., something they may have not otherwise had the chance to do.
Our
children have become more aware of the richness of the various music
disciplines and it is our hope that because of this, they will pursue music as
a possible choice for their future endeavors. We have also seen the various
music program impacts on the social development of our students. It has been
our pleasure to make 144 Music and Arts our primary vendor for Arts Education.

and Arts to be a contracted NYC DOE vendor.
Over the past five years, 144 Music and Arts has been an effective
partner in infusing the Arts throughout the curriculum. The staff works in conjunction with
administration and the teachers to plan the activities that are aligned with
the school’s vision.
This organization has worked with our students and
teachers to create an 80 panel historical timeline mural project that spans 80
feet and is permanently displayed in our auditorium. They have assisted in the creation of murals
that depict our academies and two historical quilts that are displayed in our
school lobby. Several 144 Music and Arts
artists in residence have worked with our drama teachers to accompany our
students for our school’s Musical productions and with our instrumental teacher
to help develop the talent of our wonderful band students. Each year a visual artist in residence works
with our student to create the sets for our musical, create non-fiction picture
books and assists them in the creation of Social Studies and Science Exit Projects. The students come away with a true
understanding of the Arts, Social Studies, Science and ELA standards. They work as a team and are given the
opportunity to express themselves in multiple ways. They experience first hand, from start to
finish, that given the tools and guidance they could achieve something that
will last for generations.

Music and Arts teaching artists and support staff are true partners in
providing our students with valuable and memorable educational
experiences. They are an asset to our
entire educational community and should remain a NYC DOE contracted vendor.

with 144 Music and Arts Inc. for the past three years has been an
excellent experience for our students. The dedicated teaching artists
work hard to provide us with high quality music and choral instruction.
Instructors combine the students' writing talents with their own
musical knowledge to create original songs that are unique to our
students experiences. 144 stives to meet our needs and their
flexibility makes scheduling an easy task!
