Tor Snyder has been performing music professionally for over 25 years.
Whether leading his ensemble "Irrepressible Spirit" or as a featured
musician in other bands, he has presented his music in clubs, colleges
and concert halls. From 1987-1997 he was a faculty member at the
Boston Center for the Arts, where he taught guitar as well as created
and developed several innovative student ensembles. From 1997-2008 he
has been a faculty member of the Lucy Moses School for Music and Dance,
located in Manhattan at Lincoln Center. He has been working in the
public school system since 1999 under the auspices of 144 Music and
Art, teaching Keyboard, Ukulele, Recorder and Guitar. He is known as
the "Jimi Hendrix of Kindergarten." For the past years he has directed
the summer music program for the Children's Aid Society, working with
hundreds of children ages 6-13. This past year he traveled to Kenya
and worked with children ages 4 through 14 in several schools located
